About Our Staff

Kalyn Free, member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, is the founder and President of INDN's List. The Indigenous Democratic Network, INDN's List, is the only political organization that recruits, trains, and funds Indian candidates and staff and mobilizes the Indian Vote throughout America.

Kalyn has been active in public service in Washington, D.C., her home state of Oklahoma, and nationally for more than 20 years. After graduating from law school, Kalyn was the youngest lawyer ever hired by the United States Department of Justice.

Courtney Ruark, Chief of StaffCourtney Ruark, a member of the Cherokee Nation, joins INDN’s List as the Chief of Staff with a wide range of political experience, ranging from working on campaigns, as a consultant, and with the Democratic Party.  Her campaign experience is wide-ranging, from organizing for a Presidential campaign to managing a successful City Council campaign.  She has spent time working in Washington, DC, on both Capitol Hill and at the White House.

Somelea Jackson is the Special Projects Coordinator at INDN’s List.  Born in London, England to an American father and Australian mother, Somelea spent most of her childhood in Africa and Scotland.  Her family now lives in Houston, Texas, but she lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the purpose of attending the University of Tulsa.  Somelea graduated this spring with majors in History and Russian Studies.

Pete RG Coser Jr. is of the Muscogee-Creek, Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations of Oklahoma. He is an enrolled member of the Muscogee-Creek Nation. His parents are Pete, Sr., and Jo Anna Coser, and has two sisters, Kim Waters and Ashleigh Coser. His wife's name is Rebekah (Maher) and his two sons are Jacob and Gunter. Pete was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He actively participates in the ceremonies of the Creek people. Mr. Coser is a part of the Fox Clan, Kvsetv Tribal Town and Apekv Talladega Ceremonial Grounds. Moreover, Pete is a part of a powwow arena. He is a part of the drum family Red Land Singers, a northern style singing group created in 1968 by Tony Arkeketa.

Reba Redelman  joined INDN’s List as an intern in February 2008. She was born and raised in rural southern Indiana. Reba moved to Oklahoma to attend the University of Tulsa College of Law where she is earning her J.D. with a specialized certificate in Native American law.  Reba hopes to graduate in May 2010 and then go on to complete an LL.M. in Indigenous legal studies with a focus on Indigenous intellectual property.
