Congratulations, Anastasia! Representative Pittman won her primary, and she won the general election with 83.21% of the vote.

Representative Anastasia Pittman, a freedman member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, has spent a career working in education and journalism. Her service to community boards and foundations has been recognized by state and national organizations and former President Bill Clinton.

Born in Miami, Florida, Rep. Pittman has spent the past 30 years serving the state of Oklahoma. Rep. Pittman is the founder of the Magic Star Foundation, Inc., which garnered her the Outstanding Community Service Recognition from President Clinton. She devotes her life and work to children and education in the community through her foundation, service on community boards, and by volunteering as a mentor and tutor.

Rep. Pittman augments her community service with a good deal of service to the government, leaving her well-prepared to continue to represent District 99 (Oklahoma City) in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

She worked seven years as a media, research, legislative, and administrative assistant for the Oklahoma Senate and chaired the House District 99 Precinct and the publicity committee for the Metro Federation of Democratic Women.  With a degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and an M.Ed. in Urban Education and Behavioral Sciences at Langston University, Pittman combines a professional understanding of the needs of urban communities with an ability to communicate the issues facing her constituents in the halls of the state legislature.
