Bill Snyder was unsuccessful in his bid for election to the Oklahoma State House.
Bill Snyder is a lifelong resident of Rogers County and a fourth generation Oklahoman, who graduated from Oologah High School. An enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, he attended Southern Methodist University with 4 years of tuition assistance from his tribe by receiving the Tsa-La-Gi Trail of Tears Award in Tahlequah. After college, he came back to work for the Oologah Lake Leader, where he earned multiple awards for outstanding journalism and excellence in government reporting.
While working at the newspaper, Bill met his fiancee Deni, and they look forward to making a home in the district. Bill’s mother is a retired Claremore Teacher, and his sister is also a public school teacher. His father worked at American Airlines for 39 years.
As a Representative, Bill will fight for those issues facing working families. He will make sure our families have access to good health care and a good education, that our roads and bridges are safe for our transportation, and that the legislature invests in Oklahoma by preserving our historical heritage. He is a strong believer in open and accountable government.
State of the Race:
Bill faces an uphill battle against incumbent Tad Jones, but victory is possible in November. Bill and Deni are already hard at work everyday knocking doors throughout the district, but they need your help to win this fall. Taking out an incumbent is difficult, but Democrats will not regain the majority in the state house until we start making sitting Republicans fight for their seats. Having Bill in the Oklahoma legislature is important for tribal sovereignty, as he has pledged to oppose English-only legislation, unlike his opponent
