Senator Albert Hale

Senator Albert Hale
Candidate for Arizona State Senate, Senate District 2
Enrolled Member of the Navajo Nation
Congratulations, Albert! Senator Albert Hale won his reelection bid with 73.40% of the vote.
Senator Albert Hale, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, is seeking re-election to the Arizona State Senate District 2. He was an INDN’s List endorsed candidate in 2006, and we are proud to endorse him again!
After obtaining his education from a Bureau of Indian Affairs boarding school, Arizona State University and the University of New Mexico, School of Law, Senator Hale understands the impact that a quality education has on all children, Indian and non-Indian. In the Senate, he has sponsored several successful education measures: a Lottery Tuition Fund, which directs lottery revenue to provide students with university scholarships, a bill establishing the Division of Indian Education in Arizona which provides grants to support Indian education, and the addition of Native American culture in school curricula.
With his successful efforts to increase the minimum wage to $7.10 and legislation providing collective bargaining rights to public employees, Senator Hale proved himself as a supporter of the rights of families and workers. Also, he has sought to expand voters rights by restoring them for persons that have completed probation.
Seeking to help secure Arizona’s future while bringing the cutting edge of new technologies to his state, Senator Hale proposed a tax credit for companies that invest in research for renewable energy and tax incentives for those that utilize solar energy. After only two years in the Senate, Senator Hale has proven himself as an innovative, progressive leader with a vision for the people of Arizona.
State of the Race:
Senator Hale will run unopposed in the September Democratic primary and faces Republican opponent, Royce Jenkins, in the general election. INDN’s List is proud to support his race and hopes you will join us in helping Senator Hale win in the general election!
