Congratulations, Lena! Lena Fowler won her bid for the Coconino County Board of Supervisors with 58.50% of the vote.

Lena Fowler, a member of the Navajo Nation, is the Democratic nominee for the Coconino County Board of Supervisors District 5 seat. She has been a part of the Tuba City community for over 25 years as well as a lifetime resident of Coconino County. Fowler has extensive experience as a community organizer, volunteer, advisor, and coordinator in her community where she provided valuable resources to the Coconino County citizens.

Fowler has been active among different organizations throughout Tuba City and Coconino County.   Currently, she serves as President of the Tonalea Land Use Planning Committee, as Vice Chair of the Navajo Nation Water Rights, and Chair of the Navajo Nation Motor Vehicle Authority.  In the past, she successfully lobbied the Navajo Nation Council to ensure that decisions made about healthcare were done so locally.  She helped restore a historic community building and transform it into a public library, and she coordinated the cleanup of a former Uranium mill site.

Fowler has spent her life working to help her people and create solutions for the citizens of Coconino County, and she will continue to do so on the Board of Supervisors.

State of the Race:
Lena won her four-way primary on September 2. In the general, she faces Republican candidate Faron Morgan.  Since the Democratic turnout in the primary was more than twice that of the Republicans, she has a great chance to be victorious in November.  She needs our help!  Fowler has been endorsed by current District 5 Supervisor Louise Yellowman, Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley, Jr., Retired County Sheriff Joe Richards, and Western Navajo Agency District II. INDN’s List is proud and excited to announce our endorsement and support for Lena Fowler’s campaign!
