Somelea Jackson

Somelea Jackson is the Special Projects Coordinator at INDN’s List.  Born in London, England to an American father and Australian mother, Somelea spent most of her childhood in Africa and Scotland.  Her family now lives in Houston, Texas, but she lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the purpose of attending the University of Tulsa.  A recent graduate of TU, she studied History and Russian Studies.

Having an uncommon interest in Russia, Somelea dedicates much or her time to the study of Russian language, history, and music.  She was fortunate enough to live in St. Petersburg, Russia during the fall semester of 2005, which propelled her to serve as the President of the TU Russian Club.  She also likes to use her language skills by helping teach Russian to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Wilson Middle School.  Her non-Slavic activities include playing the harp in various musical ensembles at TU and spending a lot of time volunteering through her Church.

Since Somelea has lived all over the world, and traveled even further, she realizes the need to strengthen America.  She is fortunate enough to have worked with the United States Department of State through the Tulsa Global Alliance, in building positive foreign relations for the United States.  Now, she is focusing on strengthening America from within by dedicating herself to the INDN’s List causes.

For the fall of 2007, Somelea plans to attend graduate school at King's College, London, England, where she will earn an M.A. in Intelligence and International Security.  One day, she hopes to use her degree to protect America by working in national security for a government agency.
