SPARKS WINS WITH 58% OF THE VOTE.

John Sparks, a member of the Cherokee Nation and Harvard graduate, didn’t wait to get elected before actively improving the lives of ordinary Oklahomans. Sparks’ work is a vivid illustration of what he will bring to his constituents in District 16 and statewide.

Already Did It

Our legislatures need leaders with vision and initiative rather than those that uphold only the status quo of stale ideas. When John Sparks has an idea – and he has a lot of them – he acts. After focusing on healthcare as a lawyer with two Oklahoma law firms, he founded Corner Post to make medical care accessible to the most vulnerable among us: children, senior citizens, and those recovering from mental illness. His work brings him into close contact with the needs of other ordinary Oklahomans. Seeing the challenges faced by working families, Sparks has endorsed a proposal to raise the minimum wage in Oklahoma. His service extends into his spare time, when he chairs the Cleveland County Bar Association, as former chair of a job training and unemployment services agency, and by volunteering with the United Way of Norman.

Working with the Best to Give the Best

John Sparks’ experience with Oklahoma challenges extends beyond its boundaries. As a Harvard undergraduate, Sparks interned for then Senator David Boren before returning home to earn a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. He then set off once again to Washington, D.C., assisting Oklahoma Congressman Bill Brewster with issues ranging from the environment and agriculture to defense, trade, and American Indian affairs. Sparks has built a lifetime of service from small town Sulphur, Oklahoma to Washington, D.C. and back. The experiences he has gained make him the ideal representative for the residents of District 16. Already a valuable asset to so many Oklahomans, electing Sparks will bring his commitment and initiative to the halls of the state capitol where they are so needed..
