BURRAGE WINS WITH 58% OF THE VOTE.
Choctaw tribal member Sean Burrage stands out as a candidate with Indian values and the needs of working families at heart. He served as legislative director for former Senator David Boren and currently serves as the volunteer president of “Share the Spirit,” a charity that provides food baskets for families in need and offers funding that enables children to attend summer camps.
First Hand Knowledge
With a child in school and an infant that was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Sean Burrage knows about the extraordinary, daily struggles of Oklahoma families. He knows the importance of providing a quality public education for our children, thereby providing children with a better opportunity at college and a brighter future. As a board member of the University Hospitals Authority and Trust, he also knows of the challenges that the health care system must confront. And as a citizen, he sees that “many middle class families are one illness away from bankruptcy. Something has to change.” Burrage will fight for working families as diligently as he works for his own.
No One Turned Away
“This is a great place to be,” Burrage says, and by bringing more jobs to the region, improving schools, providing better services for the elderly and veterans, and making healthcare accessible, we can “help this great area become even greater.” As a legislator, Sean promises to promote a positive climate for economic development that will keep future generations in Oklahoma and employed after college. He envisions an Oklahoma that is a leading center for new energy research and development. He also listens to the concerns of Oklahoma’s newest veterans , who, as they grow older, are testing the resources of Veterans’ Centers. It is critical, Burrage believes, that Oklahoma makes sure no veteran, whose sacrifices protect Americans everyday, is turned away.
The Situation
Sean Burrage faces a Republican new to politics, but he still needs support to gain his voice for the residents of District 2 and the state of Oklahoma. Burrage takes a practical and inclusive approach to government that is sharply distinct from his opponent’s right-wing ideology. INDN’s List is proud to endorse another successful candidate that will change the face of power and give voice to Indians across the nation.
