HALE WINS WITH 67% OF THE VOTE.

A former President of the Navajo Nation, Albert Hale has succeeded in the Arizona Senate as an advocate for Indians with a vision for the future of Arizona.

Accessible Education
Having attended a Bureau of Indian Affairs boarding school, Arizona State University and the University of New Mexico School of Law, Albert Hale understands the impact that a quality education has on children, Indian or not.  In the Senate, he has sponsored several successful education measures, including a Lottery Tuition Fund to direct lottery revenue to provide students with university scholarships, a bill establishing the Division of Indian Education in Arizona which provides grants to support Indian education, and the addition of Native American culture in school curricula.  

Securing Basic Rights
From his successful efforts to increase the minimum wage to $7.10 to his bill providing collective bargaining rights to public employees, Hale has proven himself a capable proponent of the rights of families and workers.  He has sought to expand the franchise by restoring voting rights for persons that have completed probation.

Looking to the Future
Seeking to help secure Arizona’s future and to bring the state to the cutting edge of new technology, Hale proposed a tax credit for companies that invest in research for renewable energy and tax incentives for those that utilize solar energy.  After only two years in the Senate, Hale has proven himself an innovative, progressive leader with a vision for the people of Arizona.

The Situation
Sen. Hale ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and faces a Republican opponent, Royce Jenkins, in the general election. The district votes two to one for Democrats, but the Senator needs continued to support to build on the work he has already done for so many Arizonans.

Residents of Arizona’s Senate District 2 can cast their ballots for Sen. Albert Hale in the general election on Tuesday, November 7.
