Chuck Hoskin, a member of the Cherokee Nation and a veteran of the Navy and an educator, is northeastern Oklahoma’s choice for better education and a better way of life.
A Lifetime of Community
The citizens of northeastern Oklahoma deserve a legislator that knows them. Lifelong resident of District 6, local educator, former small-business owner, veteran, Cherokee Tribal Councilman, happily married father of two, and former little league baseball coach, Chuck Hoskin knows the people and places, issues and values of northeastern Oklahoma.
Educated Service
A schoolteacher and principal for 17 years, Chuck Hoskin’s commitment to his community is unquestioned and his knowledge of the issues that affect Oklahomans unmatched. In addition to his positive contributions to children’s lives in Vinita and Locust Grove, Hoskin has served on boards that promote children’s wellbeing nationwide: on the Board of Directors for the National Head Start Association (Governmental Affairs Committee) and a member of the National Indian Education Association and the National Indian Head Start Association.
A Voice for Workers
Chuck Hoskin, a longtime union man (National Association of Letter Carriers, Iron Workers Local #584), proud father of an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board, and a small business owner, understands the needs of Oklahoma’s workers. Good work and a good education are the foundations of a good life, and Hoskin’s service to working families and education demonstrate a commitment to values shared by all northeastern Oklahomans.
The Situation
Chuck Hoskin won his Democratic primary, a three-way race, on July 25th. He now advances to the general election against a right-wing Republican opponent whose campaign issues are directly in line with the extreme fringes of his party.
